  I went out tonight to get some new shoes. I had birthday money and sore feet. Decision made. After that I also had a couple of returns to make from Christmas so off to the mall I went. (I like to avoid the crowds right after Christmas) Who knew how relaxing the mall is on a Wednesday evening. I ran into a couple of people that added some fun to my night. My first stop was a preschool parent who was so excited to tell me her son had recently been invited into a gifted and talented program and how grateful she is for all the teachers her kids had at Kingdom Kids and how greatful she is that they had a great start in school. Seriously such a blessing to hear and so sweet. As I was getting ready to leave I ran into another old friend and I’m sure had her daughter not been with we’d still be chatting.   What could be more relaxing that a nice hot shower, not feeling rushed, knowing you have some time to get ready.... I mean really.  Kayla and Jordan are off to school, Eric and Sam are happily watching Mickey Mouse and already dressed, Rick is off to work. Just me my thoughts, the hot water and this: DO YOU SEE THAT THING!!!!!! (that’s a steamed up lens too!) While minding my own business and lifting my arm to shave (I know TMI) I glance up to see the shadow of HORROR!   I've never ran out of the shower so fast in my whole life. REALLY- and don't EVEN tell me you wouldn't have ran to! GOOD GRIEF I HATE CENTIPEDES HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM!!!!!! This one was and I'm not kidding about 2 1/2 inches long and had about a thousand legs. I took a cleaning bottle with bleach in it and it took THREE shots to get that creature to drop down from the shower fan. THREE and when it dropped it was still fighting...... Today when I got off work my spring break officially began. I don't work Thursdays and Friday there is no school, I'll soak in any extra time I get! I have a list a mile long and I don't have a good reason to be sitting in front of the computer right now other than the fact there are just some fun things that I wanted to talk about. They are really neat and if you are looking for a clever way to teach about Easter and maybe even learn a few tidbits yourself this is a fun way to do it.   So what happens when you take one micro-managing mama, give her some change, a new job, new opportunities for service and way to many thoughts? ( In order to get the true effect of how my brain is working you have to read the next paragraph really fast... ) Well you have ME! I'm a CRAZY woman with worrying about this and worrying about that, thinking about doing that, or typing up this. Calling this person, arranging that meeting, mailing a note to that nice woman I met last week, wanting to sit down and scrapbook (don't even mention selling it). Getting MOPS stuff ready, making a menu for this week, oh the grocery store, that darn grocery store! Crap have you seen the laundry room, and that ironing is STILL not done. Jana where are you???   Not sure what got into me yesterday, being grumpy is such a waste of time. Unless of course it spurs a cleaning spree in which case I need a good grumpy day once in a while. Most likely a sleep issue, little bit of a teenage issue and without a doubt choosing to ignore the many things I do have to smile about! Funny Eric and Sam story today. They have little air filled swords that were in a happy meal at McDonald's. Pirates of the Caribbean toys. Earlier today I took them both on and started a little sword fight with them. Boy give my boys weapons and the OK to come after mom, I couldn't believe it! Thankfully they were air-filled otherwise I might be damaged. The good thing is the dog protects me over the boys! She started barking at Eric and Sam. I might grow to like that dog yet. My little angels are over enjoying a little daddy time at the park. Jordan is on house arrest for the night, I just saw him pass through with the clippers. I think he may be giving himself a hair...

  July has produced many, many days of doing nothing. In fact I’m quite sure it’s the first time in a long, long time that I haven’t felt overwhelmed by life. Know what? I really like it..... A LOT. Sure we’ve had errands and grocery shopping, there’s been this and that, life has not come to a complete stop but I have to say I’m enjoying summer. Here’s what we have been doing, and I’ll start with me. Working on fall schedules. These lazy days will end. I officially have a child in every department of our church. I decided that I would volunteer the 2nd weekend with early childhood and elementary. Our high/middle school leaders all have children. Last year they started providing child care during their events so on the second Sunday evening I will be there. Whewwww. That was easy. Point there: Don’t call me the second weekend of the month! MOPS is getting ready to start up. I have a new position this year and I’m motivated and curious to see how God will work here. I am partnering w...

  Sammy, Sammy, Sammy...... In Wal-Mart (about 2 minutes into the store) Sam grabbed a CARS PEDS dispenser and said "look at this mommy, if I buy this I won't buy anything else" I thought well no kidding but your not getting that either.... I told him to put it back and battle #1 started. Well that battle got him put into the cart kicking and screaming and when he finally quit he said he wanted to walk. I agreed but told him if he grabbed stuff off the shelves or ran off I was putting him back in the cart. Well not more than 1 minute later he started battle #2, he was being really rude with the cart and trying to push it into things on the ends of the isle. Enough was enough and I put him back into the cart. He screamed and screamed, and screamed, and screamed, and screamed, and screamed, and screamed. There were people that were peaking their head around corners (I'm sure to make sure the child wasn't being beat) and OH MY STARS the looks I was getting! Eit...

  The norm as of late seems to be me thinking about a post on here and even sometimes sitting down to write and then getting one of what seems to be a lot of distractions around here. The funny thing is most of the distractions come from my own head! Things are busy around here. Last week consisted of two baseball games, a Teen MOPS steering meeting, a VBS volunteer meeting, a get together with a friend to talk about Teen MOPS for next year (besides steering) a two and a half year old drop in on Friday that has been taught way to early in life how to say "why" and 3 (almost 4) year old with a yucky tummy and two teenagers that needed to pack and leave for missions trips....lets see what am I forgetting....We celebrated Jordan's birthday on Saturday and I know there's one more thing.......oh and I almost forgot the CARS movie!   Other than American Idol the day was pretty good. Our Wednesday bible study met for the last time today. We finished a study on Philippians and had a nice small group. We enjoyed some breakfast and fellowship this morning along with great conversation. After that the kids and I went and had a picnic. It was a bit windy but all in all it was nice. The kids love picnics and they are all at a age that I don't have to worry about them mixing dirt into their sandwiches! My last two daycare girls are 4 and turning 5. After they ate (well what little they actually ate) they played and played and played. I'm sure they ran for an hour straight and didn't fight about anything. It was fun. We got home and about the minute I got them settled down for a little rest period the phone rang. It was the preschool and they offered me the job I interviewed for! Yeah!   As a mom do you ever wonder when that day will come that you'll be able to use a restroom again without being walked in on?   Or some little voice saying "Mommy what cha doin?" Hmmmm well haven't we figured that one out yet.... This morning I woke up a little after 5am. I was about to go jump in the shower and out came Kayla. I never know when she'll be up for her shower, her shower schedule is determined by many factors sleep being the first one. Anyway I figured I'd wait because Monday is Marilyn day. Marilyn is my mentor and we pray together at 6am every Monday. So the next time slot for the shower was after Rick. And it would have to be fast as I have an early daycare child on Monday.  With a get it done attitude I was finally in the hot water and all full of soap and I hear (loudly) MMMMMIIIIIIISSSSSSYYYYYYYY, MMMMMIIIIISSSSYYYYY.
