Doesn’t She Look Natural?

I love books.... I do and Angela Hunt is one of my favorite authors. I believe she was the author of the first Christian fiction novel I read. This is her latest, it's hot off the presses and I finished it last week and have thought about it a lot this week. I love books that I still enjoy even after closing the back cover. It is a beautiful story filled with witty humor, forgiveness and surrender which I find a lot in my days. If you looking for a good book I suggest picking this one up. You can borrow mine if you'd like –

My Psycho Shower

Image
What could be more relaxing that a nice hot shower, not feeling rushed, knowing you have some time to get ready.... I mean really.  Kayla and Jordan are off to school, Eric and Sam are happily watching Mickey Mouse and already dressed, Rick is off to work. Just me my thoughts, the hot water and this: DO YOU SEE THAT THING!!!!!! (that’s a steamed up lens too!) While minding my own business and lifting my arm to shave (I know TMI) I glance up to see the shadow of HORROR!   I've never ran out of the shower so fast in my whole life. REALLY- and don't EVEN tell me you wouldn't have ran to! GOOD GRIEF I HATE CENTIPEDES HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM!!!!!! This one was and I'm not kidding about 2 1/2 inches long and had about a thousand legs. I took a cleaning bottle with bleach in it and it took THREE shots to get that creature to drop down from the shower fan. THREE and when it dropped it was still fighting...... I must stop now, I can't get the heby jebies to

Confessions of a Prayer Wimp

What a gift God has given us~ this voice that directs us, this Spirit that desires what is right and good. This ever-present Guide and Counselor, ready to steer us toward the path of right. Ready to help us turn from our own way-the way leading to destruction- toward the way that leads to life. Ready to speak truth and wisdom if we are ready to listen. Ready to forgive us by grace as we repent. What a gift this voice, this Spirit, this presence- this God conscience- Like a good, strong cup of coffee. We drink deep and the cobwebs clear. The fog lifts. We wake up. Search me, O'God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 Those paragraphs are from 'Confessions of a Prayer Wimp' by Mary Pierce. She used her love of coffee to talk about waking up. And somehow tied it in to a spiritual waking up. There are  many different wake up calls that I've been given. Many I

Spring Break

Image
Today when I got off work my spring break officially began. I don't work Thursdays and Friday there is no school, I'll soak in any extra time I get! I have a list a mile long and I don't have a good reason to be sitting in front of the computer right now other than the fact there are just some fun things that I wanted to talk about. Sam Last week I introduced Resurrection Eggs to the boys. They are really neat and if you are looking for a clever way to teach about Easter and maybe even learn a few tidbits yourself this is a fun way to do it. Seriously there were a few times last week when talking to Eric and Sam and also our preschool class that I wanted to sugar coat what happened those last days. There is no sugar coating it, Jesus lived and then died a cruel death. Anyway that is a bunny trail we’ll hop down another day. Last week Sam announced that Jesus died to take away our sins. You would have thought it was the first time he heard it but the way he said it. After
