Dad

Image
My Dad stopped yesterday. He lives about 2 hours away but when I heard the motorcycle in my driveway I thought who else? Sure enough, we had coffee and enjoyed the beautiful weather for awhile. Stop over anytime Dad Here is one more picture that has nothing to do with my Dad but I just had to sneak it in there. Hope you all have a blessed week.

June Wrap Up- Eric and Sam

Image
Eric and Sam Ok, I have a small giggle about Eric. He's has always been a little weird about the way clothes fit and feel. It's just the way he is. Well with the summer months I have finally convinced him it's ok to put away the 'soft pants' for awhile. He did manage to hang on to some spiderman pants for bedtime. I had to snap this picture.... Notice how short his pants are (I know how could you not notice) well it's not because he's grown that much! I'm have to resist calling him Erkel!   Case in point, look at his socks/pants in these pictures: Too funny. Ok Son mommy's done picking on you! (please disregard the pink tiles in the bathroom, they are coming down soon!) Eric and Sam love to ride bikes with Daddy. They go down to the path and adventure to the pond or the stream. I've heard stories of the caves and paths with "mountains". They feed the fish leftover bread and even spy on Mr. Muskrat. I haven't gone with them th

June Wrap Up–Jordan

Image
Jordan returned from his mission trip and after a whole weekend home with us was off to camp again! This time his adventures brought him to Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch . They have a horsemanship program and Jordan loved it. Not that this is about me but have I ever mentioned I have a huge fear of horses- No rhyme or reason, they just scare me. I have NO problems with Jordan being here or riding for that matter. I think it's because I know how much he enjoys riding and doesn't ever get the chance. Anyway the have a little 'rodeo' at the end of the closing program. Here’s my little city boy wanna  be cowboy! Love this picture of the 3 boys together. This rock was on a trail at the ranch. Besides the horses Jordan really loves this ranch. He was hoping to be able to go to the S.I.T. (servants in training) Because of his summer birthday he may be able to attend. He told me he'd love to work there when he's older. Maybe a small glimpse of God's pl

June Wrap Up- Kayla

Image
Kayla started out June with saying good-bye to her freshman year at Century High School. One of her first comments as she got in the car was "Next year we can pick on the little freshman " There is no sympathy card from this girl! All is fair in earning your spot in the pecking order! Some sleepovers and beach days and summer has begun. Her mission trip went well. I'd love for her to write something for me to include here. I'm working on it. I think it was a good trip. One thing I can't resist writing about is her joking abilities. My little angel took her cell phone and set the alarm for 4am, then proceeded to tape the phone shut and then used more tape to hold it in place under the blinds in the room the boys were sleeping in. At 4am a rooster started crowing in the boys room and they could not find the source. That's my girl Last Saturday Kayla turned 15. The day of her birthday was the street dance for Rochesterfest and also a wedding that Rick and

Water Fun

Image
The little guys and I had a play date yesterday with our friend Jennifer. She also has four children and her two oldest are Eric and Sam's age. We decided to place some days on the calendar and travel around to different water slides this summer. Yesterday brought us to Red Wing. We had a picnic lunch and although it was fun there were four boys involved . Two four year olds and two five year olds and a few cans of soda. Hmmmmm do you think they giggled at some mouth noises! Our picnic area had no restrooms around, I think every boy found a tree just because they could! Too funny. Anyway we finished our lunch and went in. The first picture above are the two slides you see when you come in. There is another one on the left of the yellow one but it's not as visible and not real mom friendly. The pool goes out pretty far with it just being chest level for the boys so they were happy to get in and jump around. Sam tried the orange slide once and you could tell he wasn't to

That's A Lotta Love

Image
I asked Eric one day not to long ago if he knew how much I loved him. Of course he didn't answer so I was glad to fill in that blank for him. I said "up to the moon and back and even more." He said "That's a lotta love" I said "yeah it sure is" ... sigh... Well since then when I ask him that question he answers with "to the moon and back cuz that's a lotta love". I heard this song and thought of all that love, my children, my heart. Kim Hill Up To The Moon I love you up to the moon And I love you big as the sky I love to watch you when you sleep I love to hold you when you cry One day when you're older And taller than me I'll say I watched you grow Like a beautiful tree I love you up to the moon And I love you big as the sky You'll always be my little man (girl) I love you the best that a mama can And one day if you rise up And call me blessed I'll say it was a joy To give you my best 'Cause I love you

More Birthday Fun!

Image
Sam's birthday was a success. As per his request we went out of Pizza last night. Leo's Pizza. Leo the Lion makes an appearance every hour so we saw him, took our picture, ate some cake and then it was GAME TIME- AKA the time where the business manages to suck every last quarter out of your purse and then you break a five to give the kids a chance to get ripped off just one more time! Yep, game time. Oh and lets not forget the tickets you get when you play these games. Tickets that get spit out of every game only to redeem a prize that will most likely break on your way out to the car! And how do you explain to a four year old boy that has 50 tickets that he needs 9950 more to bring home that cool looking bike they have displayed for all little boys to drool over? Sheshhhh! Sorry I just had to vent a little about that. I feel better now. We got home and gave Sam his presents to open. His big gift was a "big boy bike". He was so so very happy! Not only was it red

Happy Birthday Sammy Boy!

Image
No you didn't re-read yesterdays title!~ Today is Sam's 4th birthday. In fact as I'm typing this in just 6 short minutes my fourth baby will be 4 years old. He woke up at 5:52am this morning.   "mommy is it time to get up?" "is it my birthday now?"   Poor boy I very firmly told him he HAD to get back in bed and sleep longer before it could be his birthday, it was way to early! In all seriousness he would have been a case today if I would have let him stay up! He's still sleeping over 2 hours later. Good call. I went into labor on Jordan's birthday, in fact I had been sick that whole day and Jordan wanted Taco Salad for his birthday dinner. I'm not sure I've ever felt the same about Taco Salad since then. Jordan's only request. "Don't have the baby on my birthday". I said "I'll do my best". Actually I had a hard time believing I was actually in labor with Sam. My contractions never got real reg

Happy Birthday Jordan

We now officially house two teenagers. 13 years ago about this time the nurses were talking to me about how they were going to get you out of that snug little home you made for yourself. Even today 13 years later you are never really in a hurry to get anywhere! It was a clue from the very beginning! At 7:16pm on June 15th you entered the world at 8lbs 13 1/2 oz and 20 inches long. You were pudgy right at birth and such a easy baby. I don't believe you did much your first year besides sleep and eat and smile. Again 13 years later you would do those same 3 things if life didn't interfere! You are at the church this week for you missions trip. You are doing today exactly what I hope you continue to find joy and contentment in. Serving God, growing up to be a man of faith, learning obedience to your one true Father. I believe with all my heart that has begun molding with you with some of the struggles you've had. I'm so grateful that going from 12-13 was not as diffi

Did Someone Say Summer BREAK?!

Image
The norm as of late seems to be me thinking about a post on here and even sometimes sitting down to write and then getting one of what seems to be a lot of distractions around here. The funny thing is most of the distractions come from my own head! Things are busy around here. Last week consisted of two baseball games, a Teen MOPS steering meeting, a VBS volunteer meeting, a get together with a friend to talk about Teen MOPS for next year (besides steering) a two and a half year old drop in on Friday that has been taught way to early in life how to say "why" and 3 (almost 4) year old with a yucky tummy and two teenagers that needed to pack and leave for missions trips....lets see what am I forgetting....We celebrated Jordan's birthday on Saturday and I know there's one more thing.......oh and I almost forgot the CARS movie! Rick and I and the three boys went Friday night. There was no talking Kayla into that one! Whewwww... tired yet? Me neither Sunday I traded K

Becoming Better

Image
"Maturity does not come with knowledge but with obedience" "The bible is not like Burger King, you can't have it your way" There is always one particular line that will stand out to me in a sermon and really resonate with me. These two happen to be from two different weeks but they fit together so well. I get really frustrated with myself for my lack of knowledge, and when it comes to the bible I am even harder on myself. I feel if I knew more I'd rank right up there with  mature  “ better” Christians. When the facts are they are many who have much knowledge of the bible and it's contents and still like the Burger King motto,  they want to have it your way . I know from experience how easy it is to set aside God's teachings in order to fulfill what I believe to be God's will in my life. I've been there, so many times and will continue to go there, in my flesh I'm weak. When sin is appealing enough I can justify it- even to the point

Overdue Baseball

I have been thinking about this post for Jordan since the day I wrote Kayla's, in fact I was going to do Jordan's right after I finished the update about the duck but low and behold here I sit, over a week later. Poor Jordan, if he doesn't have middle child issues it'll be a miracle! Jordan has gotten lots of practice with his skateboard this spring. He and the neighbor kids have managed to build themselves a few "trick" items. A grinding bar, a small ramp (I think) and if your name is Jordan you don't need to build a ramp you can just go downhill on the street behind us! Duh! Last Saturday he was doing exactly that with NO protection on ANY part of his body. Sure enough he took a pretty good digger and is darn lucky he came out of it with as little injury as he has. There is a good size abrasion on his elbow. In fact if there had been skin left to stitch we would have needed a couple. He has a smaller scrap on his wrist and leg. And ALOT of sore musc
