Water Fun

The little guys and I had a play date yesterday with our friend Jennifer. She also has four children and her two oldest are Eric and Sam's age. We decided to place some days on the calendar and travel around to different water slides this summer. Yesterday brought us to Red Wing. We had a picnic lunch and although it was fun there were four boys involved. Two four year olds and two five year olds and a few cans of soda. Hmmmmm do you think they giggled at some mouth noises! Our picnic area had no restrooms around, I think every boy found a tree just because they could! Too funny. Anyway we finished our lunch and went in.

The first picture above are the two slides you see when you come in. There is another one on the left of the yellow one but it's not as visible and not real mom friendly. The pool goes out pretty far with it just being chest level for the boys so they were happy to get in and jump around.

Sam tried the orange slide once and you could tell he wasn't too sure about the whole thing. Eric walked to the top of the orange slide, looked down and said "maybe later" and then he walked down the steps. Sam didn't go again because brother wasn't going so we just decided to splash and play.

About a hour into our fun and about 3 trips up the stairs of the orange slide to investigate, Eric decided he'd give it a try. I knew he'd love it if he tried but I had to let him get his own courage. He went down and loved it! I was so proud of him!

Sam followed suit and was soon laughing right along his brother. They couldn't go fast enough.

All of a sudden Eric announced he wanted to go on the big yellow slide, they had two person rafts that you could ride down on and he was tall enough to go so up we went. I couldn't believe it! All the way up the stairs I kept thinking he's going to change his mind but he was determined. We got on the raft and down we went. What a blast! :) Both of us giggled all the way down and sure enough he was ready for another trip down right away!

Sam didn't follow suit on the big yellow slide and I was glad. I think it would have scared him. Eric is so cautious about things yet more willing to give things a try where Sam is fearless when he should have some fear and yet full of fear when he could be a little trusting. Always wondered why that is.- another blog post for that.

We played, we had fun, at the end of the day we were exhausted and all I can say is I love being their mommy. Smile
