Went to a Fight

and a hockey game broke out! Confused smile Minnesota has a Jr. League that happens to play their home games about 2 miles from our house. For whatever reason we've never made it to a home game. That's a little strange because Hockey has been such a big thing in our lives for about the last 5 years. Anyway there was A LOT of fights, drop gloves and nasty fights. Every time we'd try to distract Eric and Sam, meanwhile the whole rink is cheering. I don't remember hardly a minute of time where there wasn't some in the penalty box. Baring teeth smile

So the fun came with watching the boys. Eric didn't want to go. He sat at the dinner table with a big pouty lip, "I want to stay home-I don't want to go" I said Eric we'll have fun. "No we won't" Well we packed up  (10 below I might add) Went to the rink only to discover that after a few minutes Eric decided that this might be fun. Then it happened.

"Mom there's a #4, there's a #4."

#4 is Eric's favorite number right now... you guessed it because he's 4years old. Hopefully this won't be an issue on his birthday. I've already started preparing him for the change! Winking smile Anyway every time #4 was out on the ice Eric would yell and shake his fists up in the air.

"GO #4 YOU CAN DO IT I KNOW YOU CAN"

Now needless to say Sam quickly found a number 3 and before I knew it they each had a favorite player and Eric would even do a little dance on the breaks when they played the music. The goal horn of course was a big hit. I think #4 even made the goal once. Not completely sure about that one. My only concern here was that Eric has no idea about TEAM effort! I tried explaining to him that all the guys wearing white were #4 friends and that they were on the same team. That worked until #4 was on the ice and then it was just him again... I guess we’ll work on that.

It was sure nice to get out, despite the freezing cold weather.Freezing

As promised a picture of Sam with his new sponge bob glasses. He's doing alright with them. Wearing them more than not. He did get a little sore around his ears so we did withhold the drops for another week. Rick made the decision. He the glasses guy and he thought we should give him about 2 weeks to be completely adjusted to wearing them. Rick said if we let him get sore and then force them it'll really be hard on all of us. So no drops yet
